2026 The Year of the Fire Horse

Saddle up, bitches, we’re going for a ride.

On February 17, 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse arrives at full speed. This is not a gentle entrance. This is forward motion. This is no longer circling the same story.

So, how was your Year of the Snake?

She wasn’t subtle. She didn’t ask permission. She disrupted, exposed, stripped things down, and forced you to see what you had been avoiding. Illusions cracked. Old skins split. Truth surfaced whether you were ready or not.

Think about the last 12 months. What cracked your version of reality? What did you finally see? What moment changed how you understand yourself?

Snake years don’t negotiate. They initiate.

They say, “You need to see things differently. Now.”

Initiations are uncomfortable. They strip certainty. They take away the stories you hide behind. You may feel raw, disoriented, like something ended without a clear replacement yet.

But what happened to Eve when her life was disrupted by the snake? Did she sit around licking her wounds and blaming? Nope, she made herself some clothes, built a home, birthed some babies and became the mother of humanity.

She did not fall. No. She awakened.

The innocence was gone. In its place came consciousness.

Initiation is not the end; it’s the threshold.

Now comes integration. And that is where the Horse enters.

Fire Horse energy does not support victimhood. It seems like so many people are reveling in their wounds and their never-ending healing process. Enough. Yes, the snake bit your ass, but did it awaken you to a new way of looking at yourself and the world? Did it change how you show up?

This is not about bypassing what happened. It’s about letting it change you and turning your wounds into wisdom. It’s about letting it transform you.

Let me explain it the only way I know how.

Travel back with me to 1995 and the first time I ever got on a horse. I was twenty-five, traveling solo through Alaska, and thought it was a brilliant idea to join a group tour of Denali National Park on horseback. Being a Brooklyn chick gave me a false sense of confidence right up until they hoisted my ass on that horse.

The view was spectacular from up there. Unfortunately, I couldn’t appreciate it, because I was trying not to shit my pants. The guide tried to explain to me that horses are highly intuitive and the horse could feel me. Before I could process that information, the horse took off, leaving the group and the guides staring in horror.

That horse took my terrified ass on her own private tour of Denali, straight through a dried-up riverbed (in case you’re curious, it’s very rocky terrain), which made my rescue nearly impossible. During this entire experience, I was silently negotiating with God, my ancestors, and every saint my mother ever mentioned, promising personal reform in exchange for survival.

Why do you think the horse did that?

Because she felt me. My fear. My shaky confidence. My pretending. I was up there trying to look composed - an Italian girl from Brooklyn with big boobs and red lipstick cosplaying a cowgirl - while every cell in my body was screaming.

And yet, I stayed on. I didn’t get thrown.

I didn’t fall. I learned.

People don’t just see you. They feel you.

Life feels you.

And once you know that, you can’t unknow it.

The Horse does not respond to performance. It responds to embodiment.

So, what are you embodying?

Fire Horse energy carries feminine intelligence - instinctual, embodied, intuitive, unapologetically alive. It does not push forward blindly. It listens. It senses. It moves when the body is ready. The feminine shows up as timing, not explanation.

The last Fire Horse year was 1966. In Japan it was called Hinoe-Uma - the Fire Horse Woman. For centuries, folklore warned that women born under this sign would be too strong, too willful, too independent. Dangerous. Uncontainable.

The result? Birth rates dropped by 25%.

Families actively chose not to risk bringing daughters into the world. Not because of war. Not famine. Not disease. But because of fear of a woman who would not shrink to make a system comfortable.

That is what Fire Horse energy exposes. Not women, but systems that rely on women being smaller than their truth.

Look around. Female voices are rising. Old hierarchies are cracking. Not because it’s trendy. Because it’s time. There are women in this world right now who embody that truth without performance and whose courage most of us cannot fathom. Not for applause. Not for attention. Simply because they refuse to disappear.

That is feminine intelligence.

Fire Horse years don’t create unrest. They accelerate what’s already rising. And this year, it comes with a solar eclipse. Fire. Shadow. Revelation. Something old is going to give.

So ask yourself honestly: where are you still trying to be palatable instead of powerful?

This year will not support stagnation. It will support movement.

Move with intention.

Act with awareness.

And the Horse will respond with speed, clarity, and exhilaration.

Giddy-up, bitches.

How to Prepare…

If you’ve been fighting the lessons instead of integrating them, the last few years probably felt brutal.

The terrain has changed. You don’t get to ride a new horse with old eyes.

So here’s what we’re going to do.

First, look back at the past 12 months.Write down everything that went right. Every blessing. Every win. Every accomplishment.

And don’t rush it. Let yourself actually feel the gratitude coursing down your beautiful body.

Now list the disappointments. The losses. The tests. The things that cracked you open.

Sit with that list longer than feels comfortable.

Not to punish yourself.

But to stop pretending it didn’t shape you.

Ask: What did this teach me? What strength did it force me to grow into?

Victimhood says, “Why is this happening to me?”

Wisdom says, “What is this awakening in me?”

You are not the same person you were.

Good.

You weren’t meant to stay her.

The Year of the Horse rewards movement.

Not perfection.

Not performance.

Movement.

If you want to go even deeper, look back to 2014 and 2002 - the last Horse years.

Who were you then?

What was breaking open?

What patterns started there that you might still be carrying?

Be honest.

Movement doesn’t mean running. It means you’re willing.

Other interesting tidbits for you:

This is going to be an especially powerful year for those born under:

The Goat (1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003)

The Tiger (1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010)

The Dog (1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006)

Momentum is on your side. Doors open faster. Movement feels natural. Say yes when the opportunity appears.

The year of the Horse is considered the “Flower of Romance” or a “Peach Blossom” year. Translation? There is a spark in the air.

Love. Chemistry. Social expansion.

This is especially true if you were born in the year of:

The Snake (1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001)

The Rooster (1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005)

The Ox (1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009)

Expect a more sociable year. Deeper connections. Romantic energy. Helpful people.

After the intensity of 2025, those born in the years of the Pig (1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007) and the Snake (1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001) can exhale a little. The terrain softens. Things begin to move a little easier.

If you were born in a year ending with the number 1, such as 1951, 1961, 1971, 1981, etc, this is considered a “Nobleman” year for you.

That means help shows up. But don’t sit there silently. Ask. And don’t forget to show up for someone else.

Those born in the year of the Monkey (1944, 1956, 1968, 1980,1992, 2004) and the year of the Dragon (1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000) should travel. I mean it. Get your ass out there. Expand your field. Romance and opportunity may not be where you currently are.

Horses (1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002) - this is considered a “self penalty year” which means reflection. Course correction. Growth that may feel uncomfortable, but ultimately sharpens you through wisdom.

Rats (1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008) clash with the Horse this year. Expect change. Expect lessons. Don’t fight them. Work with them.

And Rabbits (1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011) this is a quieter year for you. Creative. Contemplative. Don’t rush it. Build something beautiful.

And one more thing…

This year, prosperous and abundant energy flows in from the Southeast.

So don’t just clean that corner. Ignite it.

Find the Southeast corner of your home, your office, even your desk and wake it up.

Place something red.

Or green.

Or wood.

Or fire.

A red or green candle.

A living plant.

Something wooden.

Even a ticking clock (movement matters).

Not random clutter. Intentional placement.

Not because it’s magic. But because you are declaring alignment. Energy follows attention. And when you consciously turn toward abundance, you start noticing where it’s already trying to enter.

You are telling the universe: I am ready for expansion.

Ohhhhh!!!!! Thank you for this Ali. This post is the clearest thing I have read so far on this and it brought tears to my eyes. I will treasure it and study it. The year of the snake split me open, over and over again, right down to my marrow, repeditatively. I am frigging exhausted, relieved, happy, surprised and not yet grateful. I am afraid of the year of the horse as I just want to rest and retreat not gallop so I am not looking forward as I feel last year was alot and I want to stay still for awhile with myself. Any tips?

Oh girlfriend, I hear you. My biggest tip is always gentle self-awareness and have a daily spiritual practice. Notice where you feel the discomfort/trigger/fear in your body. Put your hand there and simply breathe into it. See if you can then add something like, "I feel you. What am I supposed to learn from this" Sometimes simple acknowledgement can help. As far as a daily practice, you can pray, meditate, read spiritual text, journal, make a gratitude list...even if it's for 5 minutes a day. And start everyday - as soon as you open your eyes and befor you do anything else - with a powerful affirmation such as "today, I give myself permission to be magnificent!"

Sending you lots…
